Oksana Jackson, MD
Founder
Dr. Oksana Jackson attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate and medical degrees. She also completed her general surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in pediatric plastic surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. She serves as Co-Director of the Cleft Lip and Palate and Velopharyngeal Dysfunction Programs and holds the Donato D. LaRossa Endowed Chair in Plastic Surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is a member of the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association and currently serves as the President elect.
Since 2007, Dr. Jackson has continued to participate in educational and clinical mission trips to support care for children with clefts in South and Central America and in Eastern Europe, with a recent focus on Ukraine. The treatment of children with cleft lip and palate and resonance disorders is her passion and the focus of her clinical and research career. She promotes the education and advancement of cleft providers, and aims to reduce health care disparities for children with facial differences around the world.
In 2023, Dr. Jackson was awarded the Ukrainian State Order of Merit Award by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for her humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
Dr. Jackson currently resides in Pennsylvania with her husband and three children.
Olena Geoghegan, CPA
Finance Director and Treasurer
Olena Geoghegan graduated from Tulane University in 1992 with a major in international relations and minor in economics. She became a certified public accountant in 2003. She has worked as an analyst, auditor, accountant and finance director in various for profit and nonprofit industries for over 30 years. Some of which include Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven and IBM. She is currently responsible for ISKRA’s financial records and compliance with government regulations. Olena lives in Connecticut with her husband and two sons.
Solomiya Syvyk, BA
Project Manager
Solomiya Syvyk received her undergraduate degree in International Economics from American University in Washington D.C. and the London School of Economics. She worked in consulting for PricewaterhouseCoopers International before transitioning to the medical field. Solomiya served as the clinical research project manager of the Center for Surgery and Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine prior to matriculating to medical school. She is currently studying towards her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego with a dual concentration in global health research.
Katherine Jackson
Social Media Coordinator
Katherine Jackson is studying towards a Bachelor of Science dual degree in Journalism and International Relations at Syracuse University. She is passionate about graphic design and content curating. Katherine is proud to be able to apply these talents towards promoting ISKRA’s causes and values.
